Stryper is an American Christian heavy metal band formed in 1983 in Orange County, California, known for being the first overtly faith-based group to achieve mainstream success in the genre. Mike Tramp is a Danish singer-songwriter who rose to fame as the frontman of the glam metal band White Lion, leading them to multi-platinum success in the late 1980s with hits like "Wait" and "When the Children Cry".
